Truck
driving injuries
often
are caused by factors in addition to the carelessness of recklessness of drivers. For instance,
truck accident injuries may be caused by:
A defect in the truck. In these cases, the automobile manufacturer or supplier may be responsible for
the injuries caused under the law of product liability.
A repair person. The person who improperly repaired the automobile, resulting in an injury, may also be
liable.
An intoxicated driver. In such instances, a bar or social host may be liable for server and obviously
intoxicated guest who then drives and causes injury.

The family of a man who died after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer settled with the semi driver's employer for $1 million. The twenty-six-year-old man was driving north on a Fresno, California highway when the tractor-trailer, heading south, attempted to make a U-turn, causing the man to crash into the semi's right rear tire. The man's wife sued the Faguaro Transportation & Storage Company, alleging the company's driver failed to yield the right of way while making the turn.
